Six matches to watch as the fallout from Overdrive XIII reaches AWF Domination

Overdrive XIII ended, but very little was settled.

Gabe Roka escaped with the AWF Heavyweight Championship after submitting Cash Cartier. J.C. Westerfield left without being defeated. Alex Salyers waited for a champion who never arrived. King Khan and Da Goosh tried to settle their rivalry while chained together by the neck.

Two weeks later, those conflicts are no longer contained to individual matches.

They have spread across the card.

The Arizona Wrestling Federation returns Saturday, Sept. 12, with Domination at the AWF Arena in Phoenix. Six matches have been announced, and nearly every one carries something forward from the chaos of Overdrive XIII.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and bell time is scheduled for 7.

Here are six things to watch when AWF Domination goes live.

1. Can J.C. Westerfield and Cash Cartier coexist?

Gabe Roka retained the AWF Heavyweight Championship at Overdrive XIII by forcing Cartier to submit in a triple-threat match.

Roka retained—but he never defeated Westerfield.

That distinction left Westerfield with unfinished business and Cartier with an even more immediate reason to want another shot at the champion. At Domination, the former opponents will be forced to work together against Roka and Chubby Depp.

It is an alliance built on mutual interest, not trust.

Westerfield may believe Cartier cost him the championship by taking the fall. Cartier has little reason to accept a supporting role in Westerfield’s pursuit of Roka. Meanwhile, the champion enters with a partner capable of changing any match through size and force alone.

Chubby also arrives carrying his own scars from Overdrive’s three-team TLC match. Putting him beside Roka gives the champion protection, but it also places another powerful personality directly inside an already unstable championship rivalry.

The question is not simply whether Westerfield and Cartier can defeat them.

It is whether they can stand beside each other long enough to try.

2. Will Marty Snow finally face Alex Salyers?

Alex Salyers was supposed to challenge Marty Snow for the AWF State Championship at Overdrive XIII.

Snow never arrived.

Instead of allowing his night to disappear with the promised championship match, Salyers called Ozzi G and asked the young wrestler if he could make it to the building within an hour. Two Uber rides later, Ozzi walked through the curtain and into an unexpected match against one of AWF’s most experienced wrestlers.

Salyers won. Ozzi won over the audience.

It was a memorable moment, but it did not answer the original question.

Snow’s conflict with Salyers began after the State champion attacked Alissa Jade and drew SoS into the confrontation. Salyers stepped forward, challenged Snow and earned the opportunity to fight him for the championship.

That opportunity is now scheduled again at Domination.

Snow still possesses the title. Salyers still has not received the chance to take it from him inside the ring. Until the bell rings, the unfinished championship match may be the most uncertain—and personal—fight on the card.

3. A dog collar match did not end King Khan and Da Goosh

King Khan and Da Goosh were fastened together by the neck at Overdrive XIII in a brutal dog collar match for the AWF Unleashed Championship.

Domination proves that even a chain could not keep their rivalry contained.

This time, each man brings reinforcements. Goosh joins Lorenzo and Rudy Rodgers against Khan, Sexy Roy and Ozzi G in a six-man tag-team match.

The match also returns Ozzi to the building where he answered Salyers’ call with almost no notice. At Overdrive, he received an unexpected opportunity. At Domination, he arrives as an announced part of one of the card’s largest matches.

But the center of the conflict remains Khan and Goosh.

The dog collar match was designed to eliminate distance and escape. Now six men will share the ring, creating more bodies, more opportunities for interference and significantly less control.

Overdrive gave Khan and Goosh a stipulation meant to settle their score.

Domination gives that score five additional ways to explode.

4. What remains of the Overdrive tag-team chaos?

Cosmo Orion entered Overdrive XIII as one-half of Aerospace in a three-team Tables, Ladders and Chairs match for the AWF Tag Team Championship.

At Domination, Orion returns to singles competition against Evan Daniels.

The surroundings will be different, but the match still carries the tension of AWF’s crowded tag-team division. Orion brings the movement and aerial offense associated with Aerospace. Daniels brings experience, physicality and the confidence of someone accustomed to operating within championship-level teams.

Without partners, ladders or tables surrounding them, both men will have to prove what they can do individually.

The match could also have consequences beyond one victory. In a division filled with teams fighting for position, a singles result between two established tag-team wrestlers can quickly become the beginning of something larger.

5. SoS and Crissy Rivas collide

SoS entered Overdrive XIII against Hudson Envy after the two previously shared the ring in a triple threat.

At Domination, the opposition changes, but the fight does not become any easier.

Crissy Rivas meets SoS in a singles match that adds another volatile confrontation to a card already shaped by unfinished issues. SoS has remained close to the State Championship conflict involving Snow, Alissa Jade and Salyers, while Rivas now has an opportunity to disrupt that momentum.

With Snow and Salyers finally scheduled to meet on the same night, anything involving SoS carries the possibility of becoming connected to that larger story.

A singles match may be what is advertised.

At Domination, very few stories appear capable of remaining separate.

6. Mas Sangre meets Rap & Roll

Kilo and Dos Equis reunite as Mas Sangre to face Bukhari King and Jesse Garon of Rap & Roll.

While other matches are driven by championship frustration and personal resentment, this matchup provides a direct test between two teams attempting to establish their place in AWF’s evolving tag-team picture.

Mas Sangre brings intensity and power. Rap & Roll brings personality, energy and a partnership capable of pulling an audience into the match before the opening lockup.

With the tag-team landscape already shaken by Overdrive’s TLC match, neither team can afford to become background noise. A convincing victory at Domination could immediately move the winner closer to the center of the division.

Overdrive created the damage

Domination will reveal where it spreads next.

Roka still has the Heavyweight Championship, but Westerfield can truthfully say the champion never defeated him. Cartier took the loss and now must stand beside the other man who wanted his opportunity. Snow remains State champion despite never entering the ring against Salyers. Khan and Goosh survived the chain only to find themselves across from each other again.

Even Ozzi G’s last-minute arrival has carried into a featured six-man match.

Overdrive XIII did not close these stories.

It rearranged them.

On Saturday night, AWF will place those rivalries back inside the same building and see what happens when unfinished business is given six matches to spread.
